Adrianus Warmenhoven is a cybersecurity expert from the Netherlands, known for his expertise in network defense and cyber threats.[1]

Education[edit]
Warmenhoven studied computer sciences and artificial intelligence at the University of Amsterdam and belonged to various student committees and societies there. He has decades of experience in information and communication technologies (ICT) and cybersecurity.
Career[edit]
In the early days of the internet, Warmenhoven was the CTO of one of the first and largest ISPs in the Netherlands. Continuing with his pioneering efforts, Warmenhoven helped to establish the internet via satellite connection in several countries, including Tanzania, back in the ’90s. Warmenhoven's experience comes from multiple roles in the cybersecurity industry, including the most recent, chief information security officer at Tesorion (2020–2011),[2] defense strategist at Nord Security (2021–2022),[3] and technical product owner at Zerocopter (2022–2024).[4] He is also a cybersecurity advisor, spokesperson, and member of NordVPN’s security advisory board.[5]
Since 2010, Warmenhoven has been acting as an independent consultant on ICT issues, including privacy, cybersecurity, and large scaling. He mostly works with large corporations. Warmenhoven is listed as an inventor and co-inventor of 10 patents[6] in the US patent office database. He holds patents pertaining to data communication in a virtual private network, securing and protecting against network vulnerabilities, and systems and methods for reporting computer security incidents.

Since 2018, Warmenhoven has been offering his expertise and advice as a mentor on platforms such as MentorCruise[7] to help aspiring IT students and professionals to deepen their knowledge and advance in their careers.
Activity[edit]
Warmenhoven has a particular interest in the impact of cyber threats to national security. He has continuously helped the Dutch governmental organizations in its anti-cybercrime efforts.
