This last name is a toponym from the Basque language. Its origin derives from the noun arbi, which means "turnip", and the abundant particle-tzu. Which means "fields of turnips." However, this would have its roots in Albitz or Almitz (hay, cut and dried grass, straw, or fodder) with the same suffix, meaning "hay, herbal."[1]
Moreover, in Basque, variant of Arbizu; this surname is rare in northern Spain and is found mainly in Mexico.[2][3]
