Jerome Allen,[1] better known by his stage name Rome Streetz, is an American rapper. He is currently signed to Griselda Records.

Early life[edit]

Allen was born in London to Jamaican parents. When he was an infant, they moved to Queens.[2] He later moved back to London as a teenager.[3] He grew up reading Donald Goines.[4]

As a child, Allen was nicknamed "Rome Streetz", as he often roamed intercity New York.[4]

Career[edit]

In 2021, Allen signed to Westside Gunn's Griselda Records.[5] His first album with Griselda and his most popular album, KISS THE RING,[6] was released in 2022. It was ranked 23 on Rolling Stone's best rap albums of 2022 list.[7] Pitchfork rated the album a 7.3.[8]

Style[edit]

Allen's style are often described as "gritty" and "violent", being hardcore hip hop mixed with boom bap, with parts of grime of his British origins.[9]
